I find this insightful and depressing at the same time. Sure, it’s just one group of young people expressing their views, but listen to how hopeless they feel about British politics? We’ve seen it in Europe and across much of the West, so this is not a British issue – it’s global.
However, a message to the young – please vote, no matter what. You must vote, even if the options don’t look great. The best vote is for climate stewards, the second best is anyone not actively working against your future, even if they are imperfect. We need a party with power to make change, something many countries have not seen for a long long time.
And when it comes to voting, remember older people vote in much greater numbers and they have different priorities, but you’ve had the demographic numbers to win the vote for a couple of years now – use it!
I’m GenX, I won’t have more voting power than my parents until 2028. In fact, I’ll never have more voting power, because Millennials and GenZ are the largest group now, so please, use your vote. I’ll back what you want, every time, because it’s YOUR future.
If you don’t like what’s going on, get involved in politics in anyway you can! Become a politician nationally, regionally or locally. Canvas, speak to your neighbours, speak to your friends. Don’t give up.
Because that is the goal. There is so much disinformation and misinformation going around, propaganda too, and this is what they want – for you not to care, to not engage, to give up! Don’t let them win.
Watch this video for a great summary of how our elections are being interfered with. They want you to give up – that’s the goal, to create chaos. Why are we letting them win? We all need to understand the game being played and the fact it’s not in our interest.
When you’re paying attention, it’s so obvious, but also so successful. We must switch our brains on. This is not in our interest at all.
I really am amazed it keeps working – the same divisive rhetoric, the same “othering,” the same tactics. We can’t let them win. Vote and get involved, because your future depends on it – please!
